Enfield Historical Re-enactment Society looks for new, unusual and exciting ways to bring history to life.

A Highwayman waits...
An 18thC Highwayman waits in ambush...

We have re-enacted parts of history from the Stone Age right through to the eve of the First World War; and we're always ready to take on something different.

We think that history should be presented in a way that is always educational, interesting and entertaining. And we look to recreate things that are forgotten, unexpected or underrepresented in re-enactment.

A cannon fires...
A medieval cannon gives fire.

We provide a place where experienced re-enactors and demonstrators can come together, a platform from which to recreate the parts of history that interested them most, with the quality that they expected.

It has also allowed its members to provide some re-enactment services that were not commonly available elsewhere.

The society prides itself on providing a haven for veteran re-enactors looking for a "no politics", low stress environment, and can give them the ability to explore historical portrayals not available in their usual groups, as well as welcoming new re-enactors who have committed themselves to the simple maxim:

"Don't get it wrong, when you could just as easily have gotten it right."
